An archaeological team has discovered a burial chamber belonging to an ancient queen from the 6th Dynasty. The chamber is believed to belong to Queen Behenu who is either the wife of Pepi the 1st or Pepi the 2nd. Her chamber was discovered when the group was clearing sand from a pyramid located in the South Saqqara.

The chamber which was discovered by a French team is in very poor condition and has been damaged very badly. There are only two of the inner walls left which contain texts which have been known to have used in the tombs of royal lineages.  These texts are called pyramid texts, which have a few primary responsibilities. Some of these responsibilities include making sure that the person is reanimated after death, protecting the remains of the person buried, and also helping with the ascension into the heavens. There were also many spells that were written on the walls of these tombs which would help the person in the afterlife. It could help them with different forms of travelling, including flight, and also ask some of the gods for help.
